2010
Pinot Noir
Gap's Crown
Sonoma Coast

The Wine

Planted on a western facing, gorgeously steep rocky flank of Sonoma Mountain, this vineyard is destined for greatness. This 2010 is our first vineyard designated Pinot Noir from this site. The shallow soils and steep rocky slopes grow Pinot Noir of incredible finesse, richness and clarity.

The Winemaking

  • 40% whole-cluster fermentation
  • 11 month elevage in neutral French Oak barrels
  • 100% Pinot Noir
  • 100% Gaps Crown Vineyard
  • pH – 3.56
  • Alc by Vol – 12.8%
  • 98 cases bottled

Tasting Note

Brilliant Aromas of clean fruit and mineral notes offer a terrific blend of power and elegance. Dark fruit aromas and spice from the stems carry into the mid palate and into the long spicy finish. The structure is there but the wine is lithe and smooth from the ripe tannins and gentle extraction.

Nothing provocative to report here...just a tasty Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir...
