The Wine

Planted on a western facing, gorgeously steep rocky flank of Sonoma Mountain, this vineyard is destined for greatness. Our first vineyard designated Chardonnay from this extreme location took a full 18 months in barrel to soften enough for us to bottle. This is one very nervy, high acid Chardonnay. If these words make your heart race and your mouth water, please read on.

Tasting Note

This wine smells like chardonnay, with highlights of wet marble, lemon curd, and other citrus infused aromas. Intensely focused with brilliant acidity on the attack, that leads into a very richly textured mid-palate that explodes with complex star fruit and pears. The persistency and depth of this wine is impressive and is very apparent in the long gravelly finish that lingers until your mouth waters for another sip.

Disclaimer

If you are looking for a cocktail Chardonnay with sticky sweet fruit, you should avoid this wine…If you are looking for a wine with razor sharp acidity to pair with oysters look no further.
